Why do some people under estimate being a call center agent/customer service representative?
I don’t really know what’s wrong with being one..

Will there be a control on jobs being outsourced to countries like India after President Obama takes over?
Its a growing concern among us Americans re: jobs being outsourced, such as — IT, Finance & Accounting, Tax, Customer Service (call centers set up by AMEX, etc.) to countries such as India. Will President Obama keep his promise re: retaining American jobs in the States?
Many of my friends who were former Computer Science Students, have switched to Accounting major because of the difficulty of securing competitve IT jobs these days. And since the past few years, a lot of Accounting & Tax jobs are being done in India by so called BPOs.
Isn’t it UNFAIR TO US?? One of my close friends got FIRED AFTER HE WAS REPLACED BY AN EMPLOYEE ON WORK PERMIT (ON A LOWER SALARY) !!

Is it true that 911 calls are being outsourced?
someone told me that in some cities, when you call 911 your call goes to a call center in India, which has radio connection to your police department

Is being a call agent considered a clerical/office work?
I am applying for a secretary position and the application has a question whether I have done clerical/office work. I assume a bit that working in a call center is like office work- helping filling out documents, computer sign ups, calls, etc. But is it considered?
