What is Protection Center?
Protection Center is a fake spyware remover with an impressively generic name even in terms of rogue anti-spyware names. This parasite enters the system without the user’s knowledge or consent, usually by employing the use of various trojans. Protection Center might also convince you into downloading it by using the browser hijacker Sitesecuritytest.com, which is a fake online scan. Protection Center uses misleading advertising to trick users into purchasing it’s so-called “licensed version”.
Once inside and active, Protection Center floods the user with popups and fake system notifications, claiming his system is infected and in need of an anti-spyware program. All of these popups lead to the purchase page of Protection Center. Much like any other rogue, Protection Center will also perform fake system scans, which mark legitimate files as threats. To remove these “threats” you supposedly have to purchase the full version of Protection Center, which is just as fake as the trial.
Protection Center is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only Protection Center can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads Protection Center trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, Protection Center offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, Protection Center does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as Protection Center, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install Protection Center, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
How to remove Protection Center?
1. Restart your computer. As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, tap “F8″ key constantly. Use the arrow keys to highlight the “Safe Mode with Networking” option as shown in the image below, and then press ENTER.
2. Open Internet Explorer. Click on the Tools menu and then select Internet Options.
3. In the the Internet Options window click on the Connections tab. Then click on the LAN settings button.
4. Now you will see Local Area Network (LAN) settings window. Uncheck the checkbox labeled Use a proxy server for your LAN under the Proxy Server section and press OK.
5. Download an automatic removal tool and run a full system scan.
A highly recommended tool to remove Protection Center is RegistryQuick which is available for free at http://www.registryquick.net Before you try other programs, give RegistryQuick a try! You will be surprised!

Remove The Defense Center – How to Remove The Defense Center completely
What is Defense Center?
Infection with Defense Center normally occurs while visiting questionable websites, downloading infected music, video, and other files, and from bugged e-mail downloads. If a user downloads files from P2P software or surfs dangerous websites, their computer is at risk. For this reason, an active scanner is always highly recommended.
Defense Center can be secretly installed by fake online scanners, spam email attachments or flash updates. Once inside, it modifies system parameters such as Windows registry and consequently takes the whole PC over. DesktopProtector 2010 begins with aggressive system security messages that report numerous infections found. After each reboot it imitates scanning a machine and claims to detect hundreds of spyware, trojans and other parasites. PC users are completely bombarded with all these messages, pop-up ads and notifications. All this is done with a reason to get the attention and finally sell the “licensed” version. The trialware of Defense Center is classically described as powerless for removing everything reported, so finally people are redirected straight away to the official website to make a payment.
this is not just an annoyance, its extortion, its terrorism. now, I totally get that some anonymous finger sniffers get off creating havoc by infecting computers with a virus, and I get that people steal identities, passwords and money this way, but correct me if I am wrong, but if this guy or company is collecting fees, then they have to have set up accounts a legit merchant merchant account, which means that there is a name attached to it, and the name belongs to a person, and that person has an ASS that i want to KICK!
