Give me a simple life
It is a long time since we had any poetry on these podcasts. My friend Margaret has just written a light-hearted poem about, well, about how she wants a simple life without the things that make the modern world so stressful. Before I read the poem, I need to explain a few words in it. If you do not have a job, you can go to a Job Centre, where you can find details of jobs that are available, and where you may be able to get financial help and help with training for a new job. Self- Assembly kits are like the furniture from IKEA that we talked about a few weeks ago, which comes in a flat cardboard box, and you have to assemble it yourself. And 0870 telephone numbers are phone numbers that begin with 0870. They are often used by big companies for their call centres. Generally, when you phone you get a recorded message asking you to press 1 for customer service, 2 for details of your account and so on. You then wait for ages while the telephone plays banal music to you, interrupted from time to time by a message saying that you are in a queue and that someone (usually called “a customer service advisor” or some dreadful modern name like that) will talk to you as soon as possible. 0870 telephone numbers are a major cause of stress in modern Britain! Well, I think so, anyway. Here is Margaret’s poem She has called it Phoo to New. Give me a simple life With a book by the fire A stool to rest my feet on And a cushion for my head. Free me from mobiles, emails, ipods, Phones …

Can you give some tips on how to solve this problem using simple c language?
You are to create a software called Font MAcKER which can display letters on the screen following specified characteristics given by the user. The user inputs 5 capital letters, the height desired in terms of number of characters (from 5 to 12), the color desired (allow 5 color choices), and the horizontal justification desired (left justified, right justified, or centered). Then the letters are displayed vertically centered.
Complexity of the font type will be considered in grading. Your software should be able to handle the following letters: A C D E F G H I J L N O P S T U X Z
All user inputs should be validated. Relevant user prompts & messages should be provided.
You are to design based on your creativity 3 main screens, namely Introduction Screen, Main Screen (min size = 20 x 70), & Closing Screen. You are required to use colors in your displays. Note that screen displays may vary depending on terminal settings.

Why do Indians at call centers always give fake names like Tammy, Larry or Crystal?
It is obvious that they aren’t who they say they are. I think it really speaks to the integrity of the product/service when you can’t trust the employee to give you their real name.

Do you like my story and what grade would you give it at a grade 10 level?
Suddenly I am in a place I have never seen before. This place is strange. The sky changes colours here. It alternates between many shades even one I have never seen before, but I know is called yinx. I feel a pushing on my backside, like someone forcing me to walk forward. When I look down I notice a path beneath my feet. The path is made out of mosaic stones, like the ones I used to make as a child for my mother’s garden. I notice I don’t have any clothing on my body except for a shawl which is draped around my shoulders and goes down to about mid thigh. When I take my first few steps I notice that the path feels smooth on my bare feet, as if I am walking on a sheet of glass placed above the ground. I feel a strong urge follow the path and see where it takes me, as if at the end lies a gift that’s calling me. Yes, a gift made especially for me, a gift greater than any other. Greater than family, friends, life, even love. I must receive the gift, I must get my answer.
After walking for hours along the path I see a figure in the distance. As I approach it I realize that it is a young boy. The boy is telling me to turn back. With every step I take his pleas become increasingly desperate. Eventually he is screaming at me to turn back because evil lies ahead. When I look at the boy a feeling of recognition and love washes over me and causes me to freeze. The boy continues to stare at me, his eyes stained red from the tears. I ask him who he is and he responds by telling me that I already know the answer. As he answers I realize that I am talking to my deceased brother, Luca. I ask him about this place and why I should not go on with my journey.. All he tells me is please, I love you. His voice is hoarse and the tears start up again and as they do I feel the need to walk on, but stay rooted to my spot. I realize that Luca is holding me there with his gaze. I tell him I am sorry and that I have to continue. Before the words even leave my lips our bond is split like a tree being struck by lightning. He starts to scream, begging for me to turn back while asking for forgiveness from the All Seeing One. I tell him not to worry and that I love him. With that he is gone and I am free to continue on with my quest.
After walking for what seems like weeks I come across a forested area. When I walk into the forest I know that I am in the Forest of Knowledge. I walk for a few more meters until I am stopped by a tree. This tree is not like the other trees in the forest. This tree has leaves that change colour and shape, this tree is also calling my name. This is the Tree of All. I am shocked and scared at how I suddenly know all the answers, except for the one I need. I walk up to the tree and notice an object hidden at the base of it. It is an oval shaped object with a blue glowing crystal in the center and two pointed ends. I immediately pick it up and know that this object is a key. The key to my answer, my gift. As I turn around to go on with my quest I see a door in front of me. This door is made out of dark wood and has no handle, instead it has an imprint of the key in the middle of it. A second later the door is gone and I am convinced that my answer lies behind it.
After leaving the forest behind I continue to walk on the path. With every step I take I get this overwhelming feeling to throw the key and run in the opposite direction, however the key intrigues me and the last thing I want to do is lose it. I am suddenly stopped by an old house which is blocking the path. This house has vines growing so thickly up the walls that you cannot tell what colour the stone is and on top of the walls lies a thin tin roof. The windows are all dirty and the front door looks like it has been kicked down. I walk to the window and peer into the house. I see what appears to have been a sitting room. The room has an old rug on the floor and furniture which has been upturned. It looks like someone came here searching for something and destroyed the place in the process. I feel the need to go into the house and before I realize it I am inside the front door. When I step over the threshold I hear Luca’s voice screaming in my head. Get Out! I continue to walk on anyway. As I walk in the house it starts to shrink and I am forced to walk out through the back door. When I get out of the house I notice that the yard is surrounded by a large overgrown hedge. The property looks like a mess and smells like garbage. I unexpectedly walk up to the hedge and instinctively touch it. The hedge suddenly opens up and I see the path again.
I follow the path for a few more feet until a lake suddenly appears in front of me, as if out of midair. The lake is filled with a white liquid that I know isn’t water. The liquid has a glassy look to it and a sudden chill passes up through my spine. I know I must cross the lake and prepare myself to swim across it, but I cannot go into the water
