Foreign nationals that are interested in immigrating to the United States now have one of the fastest ways of doing so through the EB-5 Investor Immigrant Pilot Program. The EB-5 is a business investment based visa that requires an investment of $500,000 into a government approved EB-5 project known as a Regional Center.

A Regional Center is defined as any economic unit, public or private, which is involved with the promotion of economic growth, improved regional productivity, job creation, and increased domestic capital investment.

Aside from the investment, the foreign applicant must undergo a background check, medical examination and must be able to provide evidence that the invested funds were obtained legally. Once those prerequisites are completed and approved, the main requirement of the investment is that the Regional Center chosen must create a minimum of 10 full-time jobs for U.S. workers.

Through the pilot program, the investment allows for both the direct or indirect creation of jobs. Direct job creation is considered the jobs that establish an employer-employee relationship between the newly developed business and the people that they employ. Indirect job creation is considered the jobs held by persons who work outside the newly established commercial enterprise. For example, indirect jobs include employees of the producers of materials, equipment, and services that are used by the commercial enterprise. There is also a sub-set of indirect jobs that are calculated using economic models that are known as induced jobs. Induced jobs are those jobs created when direct and indirect employees go out and spend their increased incomes on consumer goods and services.

Whether the jobs are created directly or indirectly, the minimum requirement is that there must be 10 full-time positions filled. Full-time employment is defined as employment in a position that requires at least 35 hours of service per week at any time; intermittent, temporary or seasonal jobs do not qualify as full-time jobs and they do not meet the requirement.

Once the job creation requirement is fulfilled, the investor, the investor’s spouse and their unmarried children under the age of 21 receive an EB-5 visa and permanent U.S. residence.

The call center sector is always written about. But you hardly get tips or words of advice for the BPO agents and employees who make this business possible. In this article we will take a closer look at some ways in which the agents in telemarketing services can improve their performance and enjoy their job at the same time. Your liking for your job is primarily in the mind. If you can attune yourself to love what you do, you will soon find yourself getting better at it. Telemarketing can get tough for those who are in this sector for the wrong reasons. In the world of stiff competition, you need to be a little better than the average to succeed. Some ways of doing things, many of which are subtle changes in your lifestyle, can make all the difference. Let’s find out!

Firstly, get the toughest jobs done first. When you know that making lead generation calls to some contacts would be difficult, pick up the phone and get those out of the way first. Call center agents should always work with a free, open mind. Being bogged down by the thought of them getting stuck on sales is like a writer’s block to a screen writer. If you get the toughertelemarketing calls done right away, you will have a better state of mind to do the easier tasks.

Secondly, lead a better life. The BPO job that you do is stressful. You invest a lot of mental energy in the process. You have to replenish yourself every single day to avoid burnout. When you are not at the call center, listen to music, read books or watch movies. You can also indulge in some exercises early morning. Go for brisk walks and do some freehand exercises. Sitting for hours on a chair at the telemarketing unit damages your vertebrae and postures. Exercise also keeps your brain cells active. Meditation and yoga are very good ideas for a telephone answering service agent.

Thirdly, create a positive vibe at the workplace. Keep a clean desk. Call centre jobs are all about order and schedule. A cluttered desk is the expression of a confused mind. Moreover, you tend to forget things and get depressed when your desk is strewn with stationery. Schedule all your meetings well in advance. Customer service and lead generation are both services that have a lot to do with time. If you are not working to a schedule, you will miss your deadline.

Fourthly, keep distractions at bay. You don’t really need IMs and social media pages when you are doing transcription services. Turn off the alerts on your computer. If you must log in to your call center IM, keep it mute. Let it not interfere with your work. Identify the non-essential tasks in your call center services. Determine which ones take time but hardly add to the productivity. Make small daily deadlines for yourself. That way you will be making use of every minute that there is.

Safe Playground Equipment Guidelines

Playgrounds and outdoor playground equipment can offer your child enjoyment, fresh air, and exercise, but they can also pose some safety hazards. Faulty equipment, improper surfaces, and careless behavior are just a few of the dangers that cause children on playgrounds to visit hospital emergency departments. To ensure that your children have the safest playground environment possible, follow these guidelines.

• In the United States, a child is injured on a playground every 2 1/2 minutes.
• More than 200,000 children each year are treated in emergency departments for playground-related injuries.
• More than 75% of playground injuries occur on a public playground.
• Most playground injuries involve falls, and over half of the time the child’s head and face is hurt.
• Most of these injuries are preventable with proper supervision and safer playground equipment and design.

You can make the playground a place that’s entertaining and safe for your children by checking equipment for potential hazards and following some simple safety guidelines. In addition, teaching your kids how to play safely is important: if they know the rules of the playground, it’s less likely they’ll become injured.

Safety Guidelines

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funds the National Program for Playground Safety (NPPS), which works to prevent playground-related injuries by establishing detailed guidelines for safe playgrounds. According to the NPPS, the most important factors in evaluating the safety of any playground are surface, design and spacing, equipment installation, and maintenance.

The following types of equipment are not meant for safe playgrounds:

• animal figure swings
• glider swings that hold more than one child at a time
• swinging ropes that can fray, unravel, or form a noose (any kind of rope attached to play equipment poses a strangulation hazard, so never let your child tie jump ropes or leashes onto the equipment)
• exercise rings (as used in gymnastics) and trapeze bars
• Monkey bars: although people use the terms monkey bars, jungle gyms, and climbing equipment interchangeably, actual monkey bars are a specific type of climbing equipment with interior bars onto which a child may fall from a height greater than 18 inches. In the early 1980s, the CPSC stated that monkey bars were unsuitable for playgrounds.
