Barbara Bean is a retiree who likes to learn new things and meet new people. “Itchy feet” take her from coast to coast and north to south each summer. During the winter months, though, she looks forward to learning about cooking, wine, history, crafts and computers near her Cochise County home.

Cynthia Frohlichstein has had her fair share of excitement traveling the world as a travel writer, award-winning journalist, radio and TV emcee, educator and theater actress. It is her work as a volunteer in the St. Louis community, though, that has taken center stage in her 80-year career, she said.
