OUTSOURCED – the best movie about call center
www.callcenterjobtips.com Really well written movie that pokes fun of both American and Indian cultures but with respect for each. Filmed partly in Seattle, but mostly in India. You see an American call center director has his section outsourced and he reluctantly travels to India to keep his job for a few weeks more till his stock options vest. He finds a culture he slowly comes to respect and embrace through an Indian woman he falls for and friendship with his coworker. The story plays out over many location shots in and near Mumbai. You almost feel you’ve been there by the end of the film. A great Indian cast really puts this one over the top with many laughs. Your next call with an Indian call center won’t be the same.

Outsourced Telemarketing – A Great Boon For Small Business and How to Find a Quality Service
Telemarketing calls are very often viewed with annoyance and treated as spam calls to say the least. With estimated US revenue of $15 Billion per year, the industry plays a key role in garnering customers for various companies by generating new buyers or persuading existing customers to make subsequent purchases. Hence, telemarketing calls provide immense opportunity for businesses to effectively market their product and push up sales and revenues.
Defining telemarketing
Telemarketing is a form of direct marketing wherein salespersons use phone calls to establish relationship with prospective customers, informing them about new products and services and persuading them to make purchases. With the help of customer service agents and automated phone call systems in place, telemarketing companies indulge in making an optimum number of calls to customers aiming at closing a sales deal or fixing an appointment to take the discussion forward. While hiring telemarketing services it is important for businesses to be clear about the kind of image they want to propagate among the customers.
Customer acquisition and lead generation
Call center representatives are primarily responsible for generating leads and acquiring customers for businesses while relieving your company sales agents from these activities to concentrate on tasks that are more important. Because of advancement in technologies telemarketing calls can now be made either from offices or even from homes by agents who are efficiently trained by call centers. Outsourcing these processes proves to be very cost-efficient for companies, as they do not have to worry about recruiting and maintaining an entire army of agents to take care of their telemarketing needs. Telemarketing companies manage the entire operation under their own aegis with their own batch of trained professionals. The services that they offer include surveys and research, data collection, appointment setting, hiring and recruitment, cross-selling or follow-up mails and so on.
Acquiring the right telemarketing services
Setting up an in-house telemarketing facility can turn out to be an overwhelmingly costly affair for a business but hiring the wrong telemarketing company or services can end in an equally miserable failure. Telemarketing companies offer varying levels of services and it is indispensable for companies to clearly chalk out and put across their telemarketing needs before hiring the services.
Businesses should ensure, in the first place, that the telemarketing company being hired has a very good understanding of the industry they would be dealing with as every industry demands a specific set of targeting tactics. Secondly, the success rate of the telemarketing agency in various areas should be properly assessed. Again, pay proper attention to the way a given telemarketer manages to comply with regional and international rules and regulations, such as, keeping the Do Not Call lists at bay. It is mandatory for companies to avoid such dangerous waters.
Telemarketing companies should also have a very good record of customer services with low call abandonment rates. A proper study of the performance statistics of call centers can help assess the effectiveness of their campaigns and drives.
Making telemarketing calls is not for the faint hearted. Receiving cold responses from potential clients can be intimidating for representatives. The fear gets so ingrained that some agents may try to while away precious time going through the customer lists rather than making actual calls to clients. Reputed telemarketing companies with experienced representatives see to it that their callers are beyond any such calls jitters, making result-oriented calls to important clients and generating leads in the most effective manner.
Hence, a number of things have to be kept in mind while zeroing in on a telemarketing company and choosing the services. A right choice can give a real boost to business by expanding clientele and generating appropriate leads.

A Quick Guide To Outsourced Telemarketing
Telemarketing companies use tools such as email blasts, direct mailing and appointment generation to gain potential customers and generate leads. You will want to create a telemarketing list of potential customers that may be interested in your products and services so that the telemarketer you work with will have a better understanding of the audience you want to target. Other things to keep in mind when gathering these lists include previous purchase history, application forms, and inquiries for further information from your current and prospective customers. Telemarketers will then gather their leads from brokers or use your supplied information to make their lists.
One of the major benefits to working with an outsourced telemarketing firm is the lowered costs. These firms will be working with their own equipment and programs so you won’t have to buy these systems, nor will you have to supply the payroll necessary in hiring the additional employees needed to carry out the services.
Know your company’s requirements and goals when it comes to new customers so you know how to properly address these numbers with the firm you are working with so they can meet your expectations. Ensure that the firm you decide to work with is experienced and familiar with the business and products you offer. Make sure the company you choose to work with has valid references and get into contact with any of them to measure their capabilities and that they can carry out their responsibilities.
For effective telemarketing, you will want to take part in the phone script process. Gather your target audience information and determine the best way to speak with them. Instill proper phone etiquette, rules about days and times for the calls to be made and any specifics on leaving messages.
Before you sign a contract with an outsourced telemarketing firm, make sure they work with reliable telemarketing service representatives (TSRs) because they are the first person your potential customer will speak to. Also, find out how long the firm has been in the business and make sure that your business’ security and privacy is protected.
The cost of telemarketing services will depend on the amount of calls made, the program you choose, the specialized services you implement, the quality of the TSRs and other terms determined in the contract. Also keep in mind that many companies will also charge a monthly minimum fee for their services.
When reading through the contract with the telemarketing firm, make note of specific information that could have an effect on the total costs. These items include the performance rate of the TSRs and any penalties they will take if expectations are not met. Lastly, remember to uphold the agreement between customers and the National Do Not Call Registry, lists and any other telemarketing regulations to maintain the integrity of your business.

Call Centers – How To Make An Informed Choice And Judiciously Manage Outsourced Services
Most companies would agree that buying services is not as easy as acquiring products. While outsourcing helps one to focus on core business and offers numerous other benefits, it may become a liability if the process is not managed judiciously.
Many businesses, these days, are turning to call centers that carry out both incoming and outgoing calls for businesses round the clock. But, without proper checks, the process of buying and using outsourced call centers can turn out to be a real dampener, fraught with difficulties.
Following are some of the problems and a few guidelines on how to better manage the process of outsourcing your call center.
1. Invest time and resource while choosing your vendor
Take your time to choose a service and zero in on a call center vendor only after properly examining their level of expertise and areas of experience. Many companies do not give much time and attention to browsing and purchasing call center services. It would be a good idea to nominate a team-member for the purpose and devote the time to arrive at the best decision for your company regarding an outsourced call center.
2. Keep track of the profitability of the service to your company
Many a time businesses hasten up to invest in a service when needed but realize at a later stage that purchasing the service has not been profitable to them. One may go grossly wrong in estimating the measure and parameters of call center services required for the company. You might, for example, miscalculate the number of representatives needed for a campaign and hire substantially more that what would otherwise be sufficient. Analyze your business decisions at every step and keep in mind that outsourcing is supposed to help you make more money by increasing your revenue and lowering your costs.
3. Try to optimize your resources while outsourcing
Outsourcing should be in commensuration with the resources available at the call center services provider. Heavy dependence on one call center may give them a free hand in unduly increasing your costs. Appoint an in-house representative who can keep an eye on the process and accomplish some peripheral duties himself rather than depending on the call center to resolve them.
4. Do your homework on call centers well
The chances of you going wrong can be minimized by some well-informed research. Get an idea about what to expect from a service and the advantages of hiring a call center. You can also get quotes from several sources to estimate the pricing. Fully understand why you are purchasing call center services to ascertain if you are making the right business move. Allocate the smartest people in your company to do the research, to analyze costs and possible savings, to choose the right vendor and to maintain a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship with the vendor.
Outsourcing your call center is a judicious move that can bring greater efficiency to your business while it lowers your costs. Make sure you spend the time to understand your needs and pick the right partner.
