Komo 4: “Work From Home with Alpine Access”

www.komonews.com or to apply for a work at home job: www.alpineaccess.com More and more major businesses are trading brick and mortar customer service departments for outside customer care professionals who work from home in what are called virtual call centers. It’s bad news for customer care workers who get laid off when their employer decides to close its call center. But the trend is good news for people looking for a full or part-time job they can do from home. Anthony McKeever of Seattle started working from home as a customer care professional nearly 3 years ago for a virtual call service provider called Alpine Access — a company I first told you about in March of 2009. “I actually started with Alpine Access thinking it was gonna be something temporary until I found a better job,” said McKeever. His entry-level customer service job soon led to a string of promotions and pay raises. Now he’s a lead trainer for the company and he’s helping get the word out that Alpine Access is looking for more people to work from home. “We are currently looking to hire 1000 employees nationwide. And we are definitely looking for people in Seattle, and the surrounding area of Seattle. It doesn’t matter where you live, what we’re looking for is your skills and how you would take the calls as a customer service agent,” McKeever explained. Here’s what you need to know: * You must have a Windows-based computer with wired internet capability- DSL or cable. You must have a wired telephone

Would I need any qualifications to work at a call center?

I don’t really have any qualifications but I’m looking for a part time job at a call center. I have already had part time jobs before this so I can get recommendations. Would it be possible without qualifications?

RE: TWC Desktop weather.. the install is fine… but ACCEPT button won’t work, WHY!?

I recently installed latest version of Macromedia Flash… I had the free trial of TWC Max… but I cancelled the trial.. in order to completely cancel.. it told me to uninstall the program and reinstall basic. Since then when I get to the EULA to click accept… it’s like the button won’t work (non-clickable) yet it’s there… I’ve tried restarting, disabling my Comodo Firewall Plus software, disabling my Avast! free firewall… also tried to send tickets through TWC help center.. all they do is send me a new link through automated response… I don’t even have a tech support phone number to call… PLEASE HELP! I MISS TWC DESKTOP WEATHER!!!
Ok.. maybe I should re-word.. I am able to uninstall after a few errors VISTA gives me… but I am not able to reinstall.
I get to the installation section to accept the EULA and I cannot click ACCEPT to continue… it’s like the button is disabled.
HELP!!!
I received another response after directly contacting via email, and a ticket was created. I sent:

My issue is with installation of the program. When I get to the EULA, I cannot accept the EULA to continue. Prior to this, I had the Free version.. I tried the Max version, and cancelled during my trial. However… during cancellation, I was instructed to uninstall and reinstall the free version. Since then I have not been able to reinstall the program. I am running windows Vista and have not had problems prior to this trial/uninstall. I’ve even tried to use the compability wizard to run as Windows XP. PLEASE HELP/AND OR GIVE ME A PHONE # TO CALL FOR TECH SUPPORT ASSISTANCE, as your ticket system does not work/help, all I have been getting is automatic replies almost immediately with a new download link… the download is not my problem.
Was provided with this response:

The Desktop Weather team will use it to form product enhancements and technical fixes. More than likely, you will not receive a direct response from us regarding your ticket. Update: I was now able to download the application and accept the EULA.

However now I am experiencing the “BLANK BLUE SCREEN”

On the ticket submission screen it says:

Desktop Support Center
