Why do some people under estimate being a call center agent/customer service representative?

Its an entry level position which most anyone can do. I wouldn’t say it is looked down upon, but many see it as a stepping stone for growth rather than a career one aspires to remain in.
We all have had to talk to one. Sometimes they are harassing you then there are times they are trying to answer your questions off a script from a computer and just making you more frustrated. The occasional one actually helps you out. Don’t take it to personally it’s just a stereotype.
